Ladera Ranch is a 4,000-acre community that promises residents an authentic ranch lifestyle. Amidst the backdrop of Rancho Mission Viejo, this affluent neighborhood perfectly marries the comforts of home with the stunning beauty of nature. It’s a place where families thrive and friendships are made, a haven where quality of life is paramount.
Family-friendly, Strong Sense of Community
All this is made possible through expert master-planning, which puts a special emphasis on making the community as child-friendly as possible. There’s a delightful 15-acre downtown area that’s inspired by Disneyland’s famed Main Street USA attraction, complete with a bandstand and a rose garden.
To keep kids active and happy, there’s a private water park, a skate park, 18 community parks, a dog park, four oversized community pools, six plunge pools, and several pocket parks scattered throughout the villages.
Traffic speed-reducing measures, including plenty of roundabouts and narrower streets, help keep the streets safe. Parents will be happy to know that Ladera Ranch is under the Capistrano Unified School District, which operates award-winning schools, many with tech-focused curriculums.
There’s plenty to enjoy here for adults, too. Look forward to a day of sport and pampering at Ladera Ranch’s various clubhouses. You’ll also find seven hiking trails that pass through many of the community’s attractions. Many homes in Ladera Ranch are less than four miles away from the coast, allowing residents to enjoy water activities such as fishing, boating, swimming, and more.
To foster a tighter sense of community, Ladera Ranch also maintains an active community intranet and news portal where you can learn the latest community events. It serves as a virtual town square where people form clubs, share recipes, plan gatherings, and discuss interests.
Real Estate in Ladera Ranch
Ladera Ranch is composed of nine villages:
- Covenant Hills
- Echo Ridge
- Oak Knoll
Each of these is in turn made up of different neighborhoods. Oak Knoll is the northernmost village and Covenant Hills the southernmost. The latter is also Ladera Ranch’s only gated community. Featuring luxurious estates perched on rolling hills, it has a separate access from the rest of Ladera Ranch.
As you might expect, homes in Ladera Ranch are sprawling with many starting at 4,000 square feet and others topping out at over 8,000 square feet. In keeping with the ranch aesthetic, houses here often incorporate natural stone, wood, and clay tiles in their interiors and exteriors.
There are also many kinds of properties available, from cul-de-sac homes to expansive bungalows, townhouses, and condominiums. Homes also have luxurious amenities such as lap pools, wine cellars, outdoor fireplaces, and detached casitas, just to name a few.
Unsurprisingly, homes here also fetch top dollar, with properties usually going for seven figures. That said, it’s a wise investment, as Ladera Ranch is one of the most coveted addresses in Orange County.
- Community Parks
With 18 community parks, Ladera Ranch residents have no shortage of open spaces to enjoy. Among the largest are 12-acre Founders Park and the Cox Sports Park.
- Terramor Aquatic Park
Open from June to September, this private water park – also known as the Ladera Ranch Water Park – is a favorite cooling-off spot of kids of all ages. Bring your pass card and plenty of snacks and sunscreen.
- Ladera Sports Center
This state-of-the-art multi-sport facility opened its doors in 2016. It features eight basketball and volleyball courts, a fitness center and café, the Rock Institute, and more.
